The Shadows Of Babylon – A Review

Author Julie Daubé has tackled a difficult subject with her new work of fiction, The Shadows Of Babylon, published by PublishAmerica.  The Biblically predicted End Times has been portrayed before in any number of ways with varying outcomes via this familiar “to be continued” theme.  Heavy on religious symbolism, these tales are usually told in such a way that the reader can choose not to identify with any truth that may struggle to be recognized.  Ms. Daubé, however, does not allow her readers that luxury in this fascinating book.  Truth screams at you from every page, as modern day political realities demand recognition.  Her readers may expect to find themselves facing probabilities instead of merely skirting around possibilities and defining them as inconceivable.  She defines the face of evil time and again.

Shadows relies heavily on dialogue, which at times is tedious and sometimes repetitive in mechanics, but the character situations and progression of the story carries the reader past any desire to put the book down.  A definite must read for patriots concerned about the increasing loss of liberties and anyone who has ever doubted the value of faith, this book is a triumph for the eternal spirit and celebration of pure Christianity.  Telling it like it is and pulling no punches, Julie Daubé has captured the essence of what life without political and religious freedom is all about.  True to her theme, she shows us a snapshot of salvation in a world turned upside down through believable characters and bone chilling scenarios.  It is sometimes possible to forget you are reading fiction because the characters of evil and the dangers of ignorance are so clearly drawn from reality.
