Dear Mr. DeVries:
It has come to the attention of the Department
of Environmental Quality that there has been recent unauthorized activity
on the above referenced parcel of property. You have been certified
as the legal landowner and/or contractor who did the following
unauthorized activity:
Construction and maintenance of two wood debris dams across the
outlet stream of Spring Pond. A permit must be issued prior to the
start of this type of activity.
A review of the Department's files shows that no permits have been
issued. Therefore, the Department has determined that this activity is in
violation of Part 301, Inland Lakes and Streams, of the Natural Resource
and Environmental Protection Act, Act 451 of the Public Acts of 1994, being
sections 324.30101 to 324.30113 of the Michigan Compiled Laws, annotated.
The Department has been informed that one or both of the dams partially failed
during a recent rain event, causing debris and flooding at downstream
locations. We find that dams of this nature are inherently hazardous and
cannot be permitted. The Department therefore orders you to cease and
desist all activities at this location, and to restore the stream to a free-flow
condition by removing all wood and brush forming the dams from the stream
channel. All restoration work shall be completed no later than January
31, 2002.
Please notify this office when the restoration has been completed so that a
follow-up site inspection may be scheduled by our staff. Failure to comply with
this request or any further unauthorized activity on the site may result
in this case being referred for elevated enforcement action. We anticipate and
would appreciate your full cooperation in this matter.

Your certified letter dated 12/17/97 has been handed to me to respond to.
First of all, Mr. Ryan De Vries is not the legal landowner and/or
contractor at 2088 Dagget, Pierson, Michigan. I am the legal owner
and a couple of beavers are in the (State unauthorized) process of
constructing and maintaining two wood "debris" dams across the outlet
stream of my Spring Pond. While I did not pay for, authorize, nor
supervise their dam project, I think they would be highly offended that
you call their skillful use of natural building materials "debris."
I would like to challenge your department to attempt to emulate their dam
project any time and/or any place you choose. I believe I can safely
state there is no way you could ever match their dam skills, their dam
resourcefulness, their dam ingenuity, their dam persistence, their dam
determination and/or their dam work ethic.
As to your request, I do not think the beavers are aware that they must first
fill out a dam permit prior to the start of this type of dam activity. My
first dam question to you is (1) Are you trying to discriminate against my
Spring Pond Beavers or (2) do you require all beavers throughout this State to
conform to said dam request?
If you are not discriminating against these particular beavers, through the
Freedom of Information Act, I request completed copies of all those other
applicable beaver dam permits that have been issued. Perhaps we will see if
there really is a dam violation of Part 301, Inland Lakes and Streams, of
the Natural Resource and Environmental Protection Act, Act 451 of
the Public Acts of 1994, being sections 324.30101 to 324.30113 of the
Michigan Compiled Laws, annotated.
I have several concerns. My first concern is -
aren't the beavers entitled to legal representation? The Spring Pond
Beavers are financially destitute and are unable to pay for said representation
-- so the State will have to provide them with a dam lawyer. The Department's
dam concern that either one or both of the dams failed during a recent rain
event causing flooding is proof that this is a natural occurrence, which the
Department is required to protect.
In other words, we should leave the Spring Pond Beavers alone rather than
harassing them and calling their dam names. If you want the stream
"restored" to a dam free-flow condition - please contact the beavers
- but if you are going to arrest them (they obviously did not pay any attention
to your dam letter being unable to read English)
In my humble opinion, the Spring Pond Beavers have a right to build their
unauthorized dams as long as the sky is blue, the grass is green and water
flows downstream. They have more dam right than I do to live and enjoy
Spring Pond. If the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental
Protection lives up to its name, it should protect the natural resources
(Beavers) and the environment (Beavers' Dams.)
So, as far as the beavers and I are concerned, this dam case can be referred
for more elevated enforcement action right now. Why wait until 1/31/2002?
The Spring Pond Beavers may be under the dam ice then and there will be no way
for you or your dam staff to contact/harass them then.
In conclusion, I would like to bring to your attention a real environmental
quality (health) problem in the area. It is the bears. Bears are actually
defecating in our woods. I definitely believe you should be persecuting
the defecating bears and leave the beavers alone. If you are going to
investigate the beaver dam, watch your step! (The bears are not careful where
they dump!)
Being unable to comply with your dam request, and being unable to
contact you on your dam answering machine, I am sending this response to
your dam office.

What is at issue is that one of the two didn't have enough sense

Looking back, it's hard to believe that we have lived as
long as we have:
* As
children we would ride in cars with no seat belts or air bags.
* Riding in the back of a pickup truck on a warm day was always a special
treat.
* Our baby cribs were painted with bright colored lead based paint. We often chewed
on the crib, ingesting the paint.
* We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, doors, or cabinets,
* When we rode our bikes we had no helmets.
* We drank water from the garden hose and not from a bottle.
* We would spend hours building our go-carts out of scraps and then ride down
the hill, only to find out we forgot the brakes. After running into the bushes
a few times we learned to solve the problem.
* We would leave home in the morning and play all day, as long as we were back
when the streetlights came on. No one was able to reach us all day.
* We played dodgeball and sometimes the ball would really hurt.
* We ate cupcakes, bread and butter, and drank sugar soda, but we were never
over weight; we were always outside playing.
* Little League had tryouts and not everyone made the team. Those who didn't
had to learn to deal with disappointment.
* Some students weren't as smart as others so they failed a grade and were held
back to repeat the same grade.
* That generation produced some of the greatest risk-takers and
problem solvers.
* We had the freedom, failure, success and responsibility, and we learned how
to deal with it all.

"She keeps repeating it over
and over again. We've been back to this shelter at least five times.
It has been weeks now since we started all of this," the woman told the
volunteer.
"What is it she keeps asking for?" she asked.
"Puppy size!"
"We have plenty of puppies, if that's what she's looking for."
"I know. We have seen
most of them," she said in frustration.
Just then the young child came walking in the office.
"Well, did you find one?"
"No, not this time," she said with sadness in her voice.
"Can we come back on the weekend?"
The two women looked at each other, shook their heads and laughed.
"You never know when we will get more dogs. Unfortunately, there's
always a supply," the volunteer said.
The young child took her Mother by the hand and headed to the door.
"Don't worry, I bet we'll find one this weekend," the child said.
Over the next few days both mom and dad had long conversations with her.
They both felt she was being too particular.
"It's this weekend or we're not looking any more," Dad finally said
in frustration.
"We don't want to hear anything more about "puppy size"
either," mom added.
Sure enough they were the first ones in the shelter on Saturday morning. By now the young child knew her way around,
so she ran right for the section that housed the smaller dogs.
Tired of the routine, mom sat in the small waiting room at the end of the first
row of cages. There was an observation window so you could see the
animals during times when visitors weren't permitted.
The young girl walked slowly from cage to cage, kneeling periodically to take a
closer look. One by one the dogs were brought out and she held each
one. One by one she said, "Sorry, you're not the one."
It was the last cage on this last day in search of the perfect pup. The
volunteer opened the cage door and the child carefully picked up the dog and
held it closely. This time she took a little longer.
"Mom, that's it! I found the right puppy! He's the one!
I know it!" she screamed with joy.
Mom, startled by all the commotion, came running.
"What? Are you sure? How do you know?" she asked.
"It's the puppy sighs!"
"Yes, it's the same size as all the other puppies you held the last few
weeks," mom said.
"No, not "size" "sighs." When I held him
in my arms he sighed," she said.
"So?"
"Don't you remember? When I asked you one day what love is, you told
me "Love depends on the sighs of your heart. The more you love, the
bigger the sighs!"
The two women looked at each other for a moment. Mom didn't know whether
to laugh or cry. As she stooped down to hug her child she did a little
of both.
"Mom every time you hold me I sigh. When you and Daddy come home
from work and hug each other you both sigh. I knew I would find the right
puppy if it sighed when I held it in my arms," she said.
Then holding the puppy up close to her face she said, "Mom, he loves me. I
heard the sighs of his heart."
Close your eyes for a moment and think about the love that makes you
sigh. I not only find it in the arms of my loved ones, but in the caress
of a sunset, the kiss of the moonlight and the gentle brush of cool air on a
hot day.

SAVING PRAIRIE DOGS TO KILL THEM
Phillips County, in north-central Montana along
the Canadian border, an area once described as "an almost
mythical place, a world of savage blizzards and withering
droughts in a geography too vast to comprehend," contains
miles of sparse scrub grass, low native plants, gravel, and
rocks. Hostile and forbidding, bitterly cold in the winter
and aridly hot in the summer, it contains mountain lions,
coyotes, rattlesnakes, antelope, deer, and black-tailed
prairie dogs. The few people, 0.9 per square mile, are
outnumbered by the prairie dogs.
Gary Marbut and Dr. Philip Barney, with fellow Montanans,
formed a club to promote firearm safety and to engage in an
activity as old as mankind's first encounter with the land
of Phillips County: hunting. That land is primarily
federal land, managed by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM)
of the U.S. Department of the Interior. Since its creation,
the Interior Department has kept those lands open to the
shooting of unregulated wildlife, such as prairie dogs, one
of the few recreational activities in this desolate region.
The Federal Land Policy and Management Act requires the BLM
to develop plans to control the manner in which these lands
are managed, which must involve active, public
participation. In 1994, the BLM developed such a plan,
called "the Judith Valley Phillips Resource Management
Plan," or "JVP RMP," for the 2.8 million acres under BLM
control in Phillips, Fergus, Petroleum, Judith Basin,
Valley, and southern Chouteau County. A portion of the 2.8
million acres covered by the JVP RMP lies within Phillips
County, which again contains 20,000 acres of land referred
to as the "40 Complex." Under the JVP RMP, approved by the
BLM in 1994, after extensive public participation, Marbut,
Barney, and their fellow Montanans may use the public lands
of the 40 Complex for hiking, camping, hunting, and the
recreational shooting of unregulated wildlife.
Meanwhile, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) decided
to introduce a minimum of 20 surplus black-footed ferrets in
1994, and annually thereafter for 2 to 4 years, into north
central Montana, including the 40 Complex. The FWS also
announced that the ferrets would continue to be protected
under the Endangered Species Act (ESA). A short time later,
without notice or opportunity for public comment, the BLM
closed the public lands in the 40 Complex to the "discharge
or use of firearms," to "protect habitat for the
reintroduction of the black-footed ferrets." Violations of
the Closure Order result in "a fine not to exceed $1,000
and/or imprisonment not-to-exceed 12 months." Since
issuance of the Closure Order, Marbut, Barney, and their
fellow Montanans have been denied the ability to engage in
an activity allowed by the JVP RMP: the recreational
shooting of unregulated wildlife.
The federal government is not seeking to protect the prairie
dogs because they are listed under the ESA; they are not. Nor is the
federal government seeking to prevent the shooting of ferrets,
which are protected by the ESA; there is no danger of that.
What the government is seeking is to save prairie dogs so that
the ferrets can invade their homes and eat them. As the FWS put it,
"[t]he prairie dog colony provides prey base and habitat for the
survival of the ferrets...[b]lack-footed ferrets depend almost
exclusively on prairie dogs and prairie dog towns for food and
shelter...."
The natural extension of this interpretation of the ESA is
mind boggling: any plant or animal could be placed off limits
under the ESA because it is used, as food or shelter, by a
plant or animal protected by the ESA! Marbut, Barney, and their
fellow Montanans understand the dangers posed by the federal
government's precedent-setting and illegal actions in Phillips
County. But with the lawsuit they filed against the government,
they have a limited objective. They simply want the government
to obey the law so that, "in a geography too vast to comprehend,"
they can go hunting again.

Good Morning,
I am hoping that you can help me out with a problem. My 9 year old just
came home with two lesson plans from a Mental and Emotional Health class by
Meeks-Heit. Looking over these lessons, I find them to be across the line
in regards to my rights and beliefs.
I have done about three hours of web-searching and outside a cpl pages
dealing with the gun issue in their K-6 lessons, I have found only a
lovefest from the NEA and like.
Can you, or anyone else, point me in a direction of information dealing
with all aspects of this course, wherein it over steps the parent-child
rights. As I wish to address this issue and hopefully have this course
removed from the lesson plans of our local school system.

SOUNDS LIKE A GOOD DEAL TO ME, FOR THEM I MEAN
SOCIAL SECURITY:
(This is worth the read. It's short and
to the point.)
Perhaps we are asking the wrong questions during election years. Our Senators
and Congressmen do not pay into Social Security and, of course, they do not
collect from it. Social Security benefits were not suitable for persons of
their rare elevation in society.
They felt they should have a special plan for themselves. Many years ago they
voted in their own benefit plan. In more recent years, no congress-person has
felt the need to change it. After all, it
is a great plan.
For all practical purposes their plan works like this:
When they retire, they continue to draw the same pay until they die, except it
may increase from time to time for cost of living adjustments.
For example, former Senator Byrd and Congressman White and their wives may
expect to draw $7,800,000.00 (that's Seven Million, 800 Thousand), with their
wives drawing $275,000.00
during the last years of their lives. This is calculated on an average life
span for each.
Their cost for this excellent plan is $00.00. Nada!! Zilch!!
This little perk they voted for themselves is free to them. You and I pick up
the tab for this plan. The funds for this fine retirement plan come directly
from the General Funds--our tax dollars at
work!
From our own Social Security Plan, which you and I pay (or have paid into)
every payday until we retire (which amount is matched by our employer) -- we
can expect to get an average $1,000
per month after retirement. Or, in other words, we would have to collect our
average of $1,000. monthly benefits for 68 years and one (l) month to equal
Bradley's benefits!
Social Security could be very good if only one small change were made. And that
change would be to jerk the Golden Fleece Retirement Plan from under the
Senators and Congressmen. Put them into the Social Security plan with the rest
of us and then watch how fast they would fix it.
If enough people receive this, maybe a seed of awareness will be planted and
maybe good changes will evolve. How many people can YOU send this to?

Dear Deborah: You are right about that stupid reparation
going on. However, there are not enough White Americans that probably
even KNOW about it. I think most Americans are too apathetic and we are
losing our nation because of it. It makes me FURIOUS to take some things
over to our Art Association hoping someone will sign it besides me, and they
are so busy painting they won't even read what I brought over. I don't
know if they are AFRAID to get involved or just don't CARE! They don't
seem to realize that if and when this country goes over to that one world
government, we probably won't have the privilege of meeting like we do now TO
paint.

I liked your website. A few of the
simple basics of freedom & justice include:
1. Trial by jury (Denied by the proposed U.N. World Court.)
2. Innocent until proven guilty.
Caesar declared that you are guilty until proven innocent. A method
of deceiving the masses to allow absolute tyranny. For if a
political opponent were to arise, Caesar could
declare that they were "Guilty of being an 'Enemy of the
State." The burden of proof came upon the political
opponent. In response to the threat of prison (or the lions' den),
the accused would then have no time to oppose Caesar. (Sounds
like today in the U.S.)
What I need is California and united States of America Supreme Court cases to
back the simple, eternal right that one is "Innocent until proven
guilty."
I am working on a powerful tool that can "Educate the Masses."

I think that when our founders put this grand Republic
together their vision couldn't have been more noble. However from where I sit
there is a very thin line of demarcation between it and a democracy - except
that in contemporary America the minority always seems to have it's way over
the majority! The end result as I have and sure many of you have seen, are two
political parties bending over backward to pander to the lowest
elements of a free-loading hand in the inverted position political electorate,
many of whom don't even care to speak our language. This almost certainly is a
path that leads to the parasites and the free-loaders(who seem to be much more
prolific) in our nation overseeing the productive segment of the population.
The creation of these voting blocs, is brought about by a liberal socialist
agenda. The end result will be the destruction of the go-getters and producers
in our society and the breakdown of the political and social structure. Talk about the Balkans! Chaos, and crime
will and is increasing, as the social fabric is torn apart and disintegrates.
If you haven't already noticed, check most inner cities just don't go out at
night to check. In the final breakdown, unfortunately, the best elements of our
society and cities as we use to know them do not necessarily survive. The
producers leave and what is left is societies flotsam and jetsam. What will our
country be
then? I wish to be wrong, but a nation of people who know little of the values

Sir Ernest Shackleton
was a great explorer who found himself and his crew in a life-or-death crisis
when they had to abandon ship in the icy waters around Antarctica.
It was 1914, and
Shackleton’s expedition had planned an unprecedented land crossing of the
frozen continent. When the ship got stuck in the ice and sank, the crew began
an unscheduled 18-month survival test. They stayed alive as they moved among
the drifting ice floes until they eventually found an island, where they
established a camp. When their
provisions began to run low, Shackleton and several crewmembers boarded one of
their salvaged lifeboats and made a daring 800-mile voyage to a whaling
station. They returned
with a ship, and all 27 men survived the ordeal.
There are two types
of people during a crisis - those who freeze and those who focus. Shackleton
might have been stranded in one of the coldest places on the planet, but his
creativity never froze. Instead, it was critical to the team’s survival.
As I studied
Shackleton’s experiences, three principles about leading with creativity during
crisis came to mind.
1. Creative activity increases creative
ability.
As you become active in creativity, you gain more creative
ability. Many people would love to have creative ability, but they’ve never done
creative activities. When we freeze, we stop creating. Shackleton practiced
“routine” creativity, for himself and for his crew. So when problems presented
themselves, he and his crew never gave up on their ability to come up with
creative solutions.
2. The rulebook no longer rules.
Everybody wants to
give you the rulebook. David Kelley was right when he said, “The most important
thing I learned from big companies is that creativity gets stifled when
everyone’s got to follow the rules.” And Thomas Edison, probably the greatest
inventor ever, would tell people who visited his laboratory that, “There ain’t
no rules around here! We’re trying to accomplish something.” Structure and
rules serve us well, but legalism can choke our creative spirit to its death.
3. God is the Great Creator.
It doesn’t make
sense not to bring God - the Creator of the universe - into the creative
process. No matter how much natural talent God has given us, God always can
make it greater, better, bigger. That’s why I pray for creativity. And when I pray for creativity, I ask for two things - I ask
God to give me an idea or give me an example.
In our fast-paced,
competitive marketplace, few resources are more valuable to organizations than
creativity. But during a crisis, which is when real leadership either rises or
falls, creativity often finds itself swallowed by urgency. Who has time to
think outside the box when the box is collapsing around you?
Shackleton, however,
saw beyond the problems to the big picture. He recognized creativity’s
importance in keeping him and his crew alive and functioning as a team when
they had little margin for error in the bitter cold and isolation of
Antarctica. More than a skill, creativity was an attitude in his life that
enabled him to find solutions to the obstacles they faced. When others would
have frozen - literally as well as figuratively, in this case - Shackleton
focused creatively on surviving the crisis.

Dear Friend, Just a note to
let you know that I'm reading more and dusting less.
I'm sitting in the yard and admiring the view
without fussing about the weeds in the
garden. I'm spending more time with my family and friends and less time
working. Whenever possible, life should be a pattern of experiences to savor,
not to endure.
I'm trying to recognize these moments now and
cherish them. I'm not "saving" anything; I use my good
china and crystal for
every special event such as losing a pound, getting the sink unstopped, or the
first Amaryllis blossom. I wear my good blazer to the market. My theory is if I look
prosperous, I can shell out $28.49 for one small bag of groceries.
I'm not saving my good perfume for special
parties, but wearing it for clerks in the hardware store and tellers at the
bank.
"Someday" and "one of these
days" are losing their grip on my vocabulary.
If it's worth seeing or hearing or
doing, I want to see and hear and do it now. I'm not sure what others would've done had they known they
wouldn't be here for the tomorrow that we all take for granted. I think they would have called family
members and a few close friends. They might have called a few former friends to
apologize and mend fences for past squabbles. I like to think they would have
gone out for a Chinese dinner or for whatever their favorite food was.
I'm guessing; I'll never know.
It's those little things left undone that
would make me angry if I knew my hours
were limited. Angry because I hadn't written certain letters that I intended to write one of these days. Angry and sorry
that I didn't tell my family and parents often enough how much I truly love
them. I'm trying very hard not to put off, hold back, or save anything that
would add laughter and luster to our lives. And every morning when I open
my eyes, tell myself that it is special. Every day, every minute, every breath
truly is a gift from God.

to you Deb may I one of your ardent admirers say," what moving and thought
provoking piece it is". Having said that may I add, unfortunately, where
our contemporary progeny are concerned so many even have trouble knowing what
happened in WW2. It is a moment in history that seems to matter little. They
have little knowledge of what happened or why the War for Southern Independence
was fought. There are those in our country (with their selective memories) who
have for the most part
convinced themselves and many others that it all happened to free slaves and it
needs no further explanation. That in my humble opinion was only one facet of
that terrible time in our history. That battle and the horrendous loss of life
incurred should be forever imprinted in the minds of all Americans but...... it
has joined along with those killed not long ago, in embassy bombings, barracks
that are blown up incurring a terrible loss of life and attacks on our ships,
along with so many other long forgotten Americans killed around the world, the
blowing sands of history!! It would appear that the 9/11 attack the most
horrible event of our present time might fare better God willing. It
remains to be seen if an America, where most important events in history are
concerned, will have better than the memory span of an ameba!!

Immunizations are downright dangerous
The increasing number of autism cases worldwide may very well
be attributed to the mercury in vaccines for babies and

mumps, and rubella) vaccine. While MMR contains no
thiomersal, other vaccines given prior to it do. So these
vaccines cause the initial damage to the immune system. Then,
because the damaged immune system cannot cope with three live
viruses at once, the triple vaccine triggers autism. In
essence, the other vaccines containing thiomersal set the
child up and the MMR finishes them off.
Insist on a statement from the doctor giving the shot, and
the public health official responsible for vaccination
compliance in your county, that they accept full legal
responsibility for any consequences to your child as a result

Don't be such a drip
A study reported in the British Medical Journal found that
homeopathy is a far more effective treatment than
conventional medical practitioners are willing to admit. The
study investigated the effectiveness of homeopathic
treatments in cases of allergic rhinitis (nasal congestion).
Results revealed that of the 50 patients who completed the
study, those who received homeopathy had a 28 percent
improvement in their nasal air flow, whereas those in the
placebo group experienced a 3 percent improvement.
The author of the study, Dr. David Reilly of the Glasgow
Homoeopathic Hospital, explained in an interview with Reuters
Health how homeopathy works: Homeopathy is "a method of
stimulating or provoking the body to defend itself (rather
than the usual methods of blocking body responses by drugs)."
It goes against some basic tenets of science and so the
method is simply unacceptable to "modern" scientists, no
matter how well it works.
Reilly and his co-workers studied 51 patients who suffer from
perennial allergic rhinitis (hay fever). Twenty-four of the
study subjects received daily homeopathy and 27 received a
daily placebo treatment during the four-week study period. In
addition, all of the subjects kept a diary in which they
recorded twice daily their nasal air flow measurements and
symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, and eye and chest
problems.
The study was conducted according to scientific standards,
including using a placebo for comparison purposes, randomly
assigning participants to either treatment or placebo groups,
and making the study "double blind," that is, making sure
that neither participants nor researchers knew who was taking
the homeopathic drug.
Acute conditions, such as colds and allergies, will often
respond to homeopathic treatment. However, treating yourself
with health food store homeopathic remedies is not advised.

Penny for your thoughts
I'll never again pick up a penny without thinking of this!
Several years ago, a friend of mine and her husband were invited to spend the
weekend at the husband's employer's home.
My friend, Arlene, was nervous about the weekend. The boss was very wealthy, with a fine home
on the water-way, and cars costing more than her house. The first day and
evening went well, and Arlene was delighted to have this rare glimpse into how
the very wealthy live.
The husband's employer was quite generous as a host, and took them to the
finest restaurants.
Arlene knew she would never have the opportunity to indulge in this kind of
extravagance again,
so was enjoying herself immensely. As
the three of them were about to enter an exclusive restaurant that evening, the
boss was walking slightly ahead of Arlene and her husband.
He stopped suddenly, looking down on the pavement for a long, silent moment.
Arlene wondered
if she was supposed to pass him. There was nothing on the ground except a
single darkened penny that someone had dropped, and a few cigarette butts. Still silent, the man reached down and
picked up the penny. He held it up and smiled, then put it in his pocket as if
he had found a great treasure.
How absurd! What need did this man have for a single penny? Why would he even
take the time
to stop and pick it up?
Throughout dinner, the entire scene nagged at her. Finally, she could stand it no longer. She causally mentioned that her daughter once had a coin
collection, and asked if the penny he had found had been valuable.
A smile crept across the man's face as he reached into his pocket for the penny
and held it out for her to see. She had
seen many pennies before! What was the
point of this?
"Look at it." He said. "Read what it says."
She read the words "United States of America."
"No, not that; read further."
"One cent?"
"No, keep reading."
"In God we Trust?"
"Yes!"
"And?"
"And if I trust in God, the name of God is holy, even on a coin. Whenever
I find a coin I see that inscription. It is written on every single United
States coin, but we never seem to notice it!
God drops a message right in front of me telling me to trust Him? Who am
I to pass it by?
When I see a coin, I pray, I stop to see if my trust IS in God at that moment.
I pick the coin up
as a response to God; that I do trust in Him...
For a short time, at least, I cherish it as if it were gold. I think it is
God's way of starting a conversation with me.
Lucky for me, God is patient and pennies are plentiful!
When I was out shopping today, I found a penny on the sidewalk. I stopped and picked it up,
and realized that I had been worrying and fretting in my mind about things I
can not change. I read the words, "In God We Trust," and had to
laugh. Yes, God, I get the message.
It seems that I have been finding an inordinate number of pennies in the last
few months, but then, pennies are plentiful!
And God is patient.

I have just finished your latest RANT. Thank you
for every word. There are so many Americans that are not given help by
Family or Church. The reason is that any outside help interferes with the
promised Government security blanket they feel is their due. The election
of men and women that would read, and abide by our Constitution will not
happen. The Social Security is misnamed. I lost my military
retirement due to disability. I worked very few years under the Social
Security, so I get a small check. My wife of 43 years stayed home to
raise our five wonderful children. Her Social Security is a pittance.
We are 73, and 77 respectfully. We are happily still on our
Honeymoon. We would like very much for the Federal, and State Governments
to get out of our families lives.

I took a road trip

in July of this year. What a marvelous experience. The forests, the
coastline and the people were generally agreeable. But most of all, I
liked New Hampshire. On every license plate is clearly printed and
exclained, "LIVE FREE OR DIE".
How bout it
folks? This is our country. Not the U.N.'s. Did you know that
immigrants are being moved to our country because they "qualify" for
some obscure U.N. program? Yes. An article in the Orange County
Register specified the arrangement as such when an Afghanistani family recently
arrived in the county.
The time to act is
now. Tell the politicians to abide the Constitution or, if not, then to
resign. Congressional declarations of war are necessary. The full
scope of the duties of the federal government is fully explained in the Constitution,
no more or less. If additions or deletions are necessary, change it
through the amendment process. Circumventiing the Constitution has
created a federal government that is null and void and the actions, thereof,
are illegal and unenforceable.
Join the caravan of
We the People when it reaches your state. Demand state governments to
enforce states' sovereignty, for it was state sovereignty that gave birth
to a sovereign nation.

I laugh when I read this, because this snapshot could have been taken right
where I live.
(Only that at our suburban street corners, reluctantly smiling wives have been
added to the picture. And no wave of their manicured hands can hide the fact
that they might as well have a sticker saying "I'd rather be at my country
club" pasted on their professionally toned derrières.)
After all, it's the suburbs.
But it's easy to poke fun at the electoral process if you have one. Cynicism
about democracy exists mostly in countries where democratic ideals are firmly
entrenched. Those that make do without usually don't allow cynicism of any
form.
There is, of course, a certain poignancy to the fact that today's primary
elections are occurring a day before the first anniversary of 9/11. Last year's
still-present attack of
medieval sectarian hatred against all America stands for may not do much to get
more than the usual third of the U.S. electorate to the polling stations.
But in the end, it's all about the opportunity of making a difference.
So, if you're getting this message before the polls close in your neighborhood,
take the twenty minutes and do your civic duty. It's a luxury many people have
died for to afford you.

PFNS, Naples, FL The Federal government owns* or controls over 50 percent of
all the land in the United States. All across the country citizens are battling
to retain control over their private property. As the war for the control and
use of land continues to grow on a seemingly daily basis, local county
officials are being encouraged to join individuals in their fight.

One group involved in the effort to educate county officials traces its roots
to the early 1990s.
"From 1990 to 1996, we were involved in an organization called the
National Federal Lands Conference," explained Howard Hutchinson, one of
the founders. "We tried to steer the focus of local elected officials
toward roles they could and should play in Federal decisions regarding land
control and land usage."
Hutchinson said that Ruth Kaiser of Salt Lake City, Utah was the backbone of
the effort and the executive director for years. As the one full-time employee,
the others often referred to her as "Mom." The group members traveled
at least one weekend each month to participate in seminars throughout the
United States.
"We talked to as many county officials as we could and tried to inform and
educate them on their roles as representatives of their constituents,"
said Hutchinson, who lives in Glenwood, New Mexico. "They need to review
their actions as local representatives when they interact with federal
officials. They must be mindful of the
role of individuals and their respective property rights."
In 1994, Hutchinson wrote, "Of all the rights held as citizens, the right
to own property is central to the current controversy. Life without liberty is
not worth living and liberty is empty without the power to acquire and control
property. So high a priority was given to the ownership and exercise of control
over property that the Founders of this nation
included the Fifth Amendment in the Bill of Rights."
The original "Sagebrush Rebellion" that developed in the West, first
espoused one of the main issues examined by the conference. Hutchinson said the
Rebellion began when the Western states felt federal elected officials were not
showing good stewardship of the vast amounts of land under federal control. As
early as 1963, western landowners were beginning to fight for ownership and
control rights.
"The lands were producing only limited revenue and many counties and
states were suffering economically from the lack of use and activity,"
said Hutchinson. "Issues such as livestock grazing permits, water rights,
federal controls of land, and set asides for the spotted owl and other animals were
all intertwined and often overlooked."
Hutchinson, who is now executive director of the Coalition of Arizona and New
Mexico Counties, said the effort of the Conference waned as the travel and time
involved began to take a toll on the volunteer members.
Rather than continue the grueling travel schedule, they concentrated their
efforts on organizing people across the United States with like problems of
federal government control.
"If we learned anything during our brief tenure, we realized that similar
activities were occurring all around the country at the same time," said
Hutchinson. "We discovered that if people could learn to communicate about
these problems and exchange information, there could be a clear, coordinated
effort to defend these matters or, even more importantly, to mount an offensive
against more federal taking."
Hutchinson said, "There is a need to establish clear objectives for
landowners nationwide who are facing the same circumstances. This would
eventually help everyone. Communication and education will help maintain the
liberty that everyone has come to expect in America."
"It is imperative that counties learn that they have input into federal
actions regarding land and they must be in a position to discuss and educate as
to the potential destructive forces that such taking can have on the economy,
culture and customs of a community," said Hutchinson.
He is disappointed that some environmental critics call his efforts
"radical and threatening to the ecology and the environment."

public supports the responsible extraction and use of natural resources and the
protection of these activities," said Hutchinson. "If anything, we
care more about the land than many. We live on it and we need it to
survive."
Hutchinson said the residents of South Florida are encountering the same
federal land taking that has occurred elsewhere.
Residents of Arizona and New Mexico will join The 8.5 SMA Legal Defense Fund,
The 15,000 Coalition, Inc., The Everglades Protection Society, and The Dade
County Farm Bureau as; some of the more than seven hundred groups nationwide
pledging their support to The Sawgrass Rebellion. The largest property rights
advocate group in the United States, The Paragon Foundation of Alamogordo, New
Mexico, recently agreed to help South Florida residents in their stand against
"unwarranted taking" of their properties.
The Sawgrass Rebellion is an umbrella organization founded to protect the
property rights of South Florida residents through legislation, litigation, and
public education.
The Sawgrass Rebellion will culminate with a property rights rally, when four
caravans from across the United State converge at Naples, Florida on October 17
and 18. Participants will travel across the Everglades to Homestead, Florida on
October 19.

actually happened in a youth ministry class at Hannibal-LaGrange
College in Missouri.
I left work early so I could have some uninterrupted study time right
before the final in my Youth Issues class. When I got to class, everybody
was doing their last minute studying. The teacher came in and said he
would review with us for just a little bit before the test. We went
through the review, most of it right on the study guide, but there were
some things he was reviewing that I had never heard of. When questioned
about it, he said that they were in the book and we were responsible for
everything in the book. We couldn't really argue with that.
Finally it was time to take the test.
"Leave them face down on the desk until everyone has one and I'll tell you
to start," our prof instructed.
When we turned them over, every answer on the test was filled in! The
bottom of the last page said the following:
"This is the end of the Final Exam. All the answers on your test are
correct. You will receive an 'A' on the final exam. The reason you
passed the test is because the creator of the test took it for you. All
the work you did in preparation for this test did not help you get the A.
You have just experienced...grace."
He then went around the room and asked each student individually, "What is
your grade? Do you deserve the grade you are receiving? How much
did all
your studying for this exam help you achieve your final grade?"
Now I am not a crier by any stretch of the imagination, but I had to fight
back tears when answering those questions and thinking about how the
Creator has passed the test for me.
Discussion afterward went like this: "I have tried to teach you all
semester that you are a recipient of grace. I've tried to communicate to
you that you need to demonstrate this gift as you work with young people.
Don't hammer them; they are not the enemy. Help them, for they will carry
on your ministry if it is full of GRACE!"
Talking about how some of us had probably studied hours and some just a
few minutes but had all received the same grade, he pointed to a story
Jesus told in Matthew 20. The owner of a vineyard hired people to work in
his field and agreed to pay them a certain amount. Several different
times during the day, he hired more workers. When it was time to pay
them, they all received the same amount. When the ones who had been
hired first thing in the morning began complaining, the boss said, "Should
you be angry because I am kind?" (Matthew 20:15).
The teacher said he had never done this kind of final before and probably
would never do it again, but because of the content of many of our class
discussions, he felt like we needed to experience grace.

opinion," just remember those Palestinians and Egyptians dancing in the
streets after 3,000 Americans were murdered by terrorists. Remember all the
young Americans buried under a sea of crosses on the beaches at Normandy
because we had to rescue the terribly clever French, who had blundered their
way into a war in which they surrendered after less than two months of
fighting. Remember all the tinhorn despots and half-baked intellectuals around
the world who constitute a large part of what is called "world

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,
Please lend me your ear. I've had the following for awhile but know
I have inundated you with so much information I have waited until now to
forward this on for your edification. Indeed many of you see what is happening
to America (and the world), very clearly. But I have learned to take nothing
for granted as to who knows what.
What is happening in America is not new. It is about as old as the
history of the world. In near history we need only look back at Nazi Germany
for the model. Look at the parallels. They are extraordinarily similar. But The
Hidden Hand, (those few money powers families), that truly run the world (with
Satan as their master) have become very ambitious. They intend to take over the
globe, wean down the population by BILLIONS (YES BILLIONS!) and make the
remaining, mindless slaves for their bidding (some of you may know of the
technology they already have to accomplish their goals). Those who
"survive", for lack of better words, will be drooling idiots,
absolutely incapable of resisting the orders of their slave masters. Sound good
to you? Want that for your children and your children's children?
You understand (or at least I hope you do by now), the
Biblical prophesies of The End Times are unfolding right before your eyes. Can
you not see this? For if you do, you must also understand time is very short
and YOU must choose which side you will be on in this Holy War and you need to
do this without delay.
There are many "Christians" who believe they
"believe", "it's all pre-ordained and there is nothing I can do
about it". WRONG! WRONG! WRONG! You do not understand why you are even on
this planet. You, me, all of us are here because we have fallen from God. If
not, why have you suffered miserably? Why aren't you in Heaven right now? Why?
Our Father would have us suffer for His enjoyment? NOT! We all made a WRONG
CHOICE. That's why we're here. We are here to be rehabilitated. Which of any of
us can say we are without sin? (transgression to The Father), Who? You and I
know the answer to that. So, you think Father will bring us home (Heaven) if we
continue to disobey? Yes, we're all "trying" to lead a better life
but that is "NOT ENOUGH". Our trials are before us to see where our
loyalty really lies. Think you can have one foot here and one
in Heaven? If you do, you are dead wrong.
What tests are coming? We have been sent Father's Plan. You will
(of your free will) either fight this evil down here and prove your loyalty to
our Father and earn your way back home or, by default...you are with the enemy
of God and YOU WILL FACE THE FIRE. That is the real deal and I can't make it
plainer than that. Fight on the right side (God's) or eternally perish in The
Fire.
Below is more of a sampling of what is here and coming on earth. I
send it that it may be a strong spiritual slap in the face for you lingerers,
still uncommitted but hanging on in my list. You doubters must choose very
soon. Time is short and there is much training you must do first before Father
sends His COMMAND TO ACTION.
May our Father guide you to the right decision this time because we
all chose wrong last time. This earth and the suffering you/we have endured you
/we have all brought upon ourselves. Had we all listened to Father's Law, none
of us would be on this "rehabilitation planet" (which is an entry way
to hell). What will you do this time? Discover "The Way Home (through His
narrow gate) or Face The Fire"? Remember, it is your gift of free will
that got you here. I implore you...let us not screw up this time.

Israel Charged With Systematic Harassment of U.S. Marines

It was 12 years ago, on March 14, 1983, that the commandant of the
Marine Corps sent a highly unusual letter to the secretary of defense
expressing frustration and anger at Israel. General R.H. Barrow charged
that Israeli troops were deliberately threatening the lives of Marines
serving as peacekeepers in Lebanon. There was, he wrote, a systematic
pattern of harassment by Israel Defense Forces (IDF) that was resulting
in “life-threatening situations, replete with verbal degradation of the
officers, their uniform and country.”
Barrow’s letter added: “It is inconceivable to me why Americans serving
in peacekeeping roles must be harassed, endangered by an ally...It is
evident to me, and the opinion of the U.S. commanders afloat and ashore,
that the incidents between the Marines and the IDF are timed,
orchestrated, and executed for obtuse Israeli political purposes.”1
Israel’s motives were less obtuse than the diplomatic general pretended.
It was widely believed then, and now, that Israeli Defense Minister
Ariel Sharon, one of Israel’s most Machiavellian politician-generals,
was creating the incidents deliberately in an effort to convince
Washington that the two forces had to coordinate their actions in order
to avoid such tensions. This, of course, would have been taken by the
Arabs as proof that the Marines were not really in Lebanon as neutral
peacekeepers but as allies of the Israelis, a perception that would have
obvious advantages for Israel.2
Barrow’s extraordinary letter was indicative of the frustrations and
miseries the Marines suffered during their posting to Lebanon starting
on Aug. 25, 1982, as a result of Israel’s invasion 11 weeks earlier.
Initially a U.S. unit of 800 men was sent to Beirut harbor as part of a
multinational force to monitor the evacuation of PLO guerrillas from
Beirut. The Marines, President Reagan announced, “in no case... would
stay longer than 30 days.”3 This turned out to be only partly true. They
did withdraw on Sept. 10, but a reinforced unit of 1,200 was rushed back
15 days later after the massacres at the Palestinian refugee camps at
Sabra and Shatila that accompanied the Israeli seizure of West Beirut.
The U.S. forces remained until Feb. 26, 1984.4
During their-year-and-a-half posting in Lebanon, the Marines suffered
268 killed.5 The casualties started within a week of the return of the
Marines in September 1982. On the 30th, a U.S.-made cluster bomb
left
behind by the Israelis exploded, killing Corporal David Reagan and
wounding three other Marines.6
Corporal Reagan’s death represented the dangers of the new mission of
the Marines in Lebanon. While their first brief stay had been to
separate Israeli forces from Palestinian fighters evacuating West
Beirut, their new mission was as part of a multinational force sent to
prevent Israeli troops from attacking the Palestinian civilians left
defenseless there after the withdrawal of PLO forces. As President
Reagan said: “For this multinational force to succeed, it is essential
that Israel withdraw from Beirut.”7
”Incidents are timed, orchestrated, and executed for Israeli political
purposes.”
Israel’s siege of Beirut during the summer of 1982 had been brutal and
bloody, reaching a peak of horror on Aug. 12, quickly known as Black
Thursday. On that day, Sharon’s forces launched at dawn a massive
artillery barrage that lasted for 11 straight hours and was accompanied
by saturation air bombardment.8 As many as 500 persons, mainly Lebanese
and Palestinian civilians, were killed.9
On top of the bombardment came the massacres the next month at Sabra and
Shatila, where Sharon’s troops allowed Lebanese Maronite killers to
enter the camps filled with defenseless civilians. The massacres
sickened the international community and pressure from Western capitals
finally forced Israel to withdraw from Beirut in late September. Troops
from Britain, France, Italy and the United States were interposed
between the Israeli army and Beirut, with U.S. Marines deployed in the
most sensitive area south of Beirut at the International Airport,
directly between Israeli troops and West Beirut.
It was at the airport that the Marines would suffer their Calvary over
the next year. Starting in January 1983, small Israeli units began
probing the Marine lines. At first the effort appeared aimed at
discovering the extent of Marine determination to resist penetration.
The lines proved solid and the Marines’ determination strong. Israeli
troops were politely but firmly turned away. Soon the incidents
escalated, with both sides pointing loaded weapons at each other but no
firing taking place. Tensions were high enough by late January that a
special meeting between U.S. and Israeli officers was held in Beirut to
try to agree on precise boundaries beyond which the IDF would not
penetrate.10
No Stranger to the Marines
However, on Feb. 2 a unit of three Israeli tanks, led by Israeli Lt.
Col. Rafi Landsberg, tried to pass through Marine/Lebanese Army lines at
Rayan University Library in south Lebanon. By this time, Landsberg was
no stranger to the Marines. Since the beginning of January he had been
leading small Israeli units in probes against the Marine lines, although
such units would normally have a commander no higher than a sergeant or
lieutenant. The suspicion grew that Sharon’s troops were deliberately
provoking the Marines and Landsberg was there to see that things did not
get out of hand. The Israeli tactics were aimed more at forcing a joint
U.S.-Israeli strategy than merely probing lines.
In the Feb. 2 incident, the checkpoint was commanded by Marine Capt.
Charles Johnson, who firmly refused permission for Landsberg to advance.
When two of the Israeli tanks ignored his warning to halt, Johnson
leaped on Landsberg’s tank with pistol drawn and demanded Landsberg and
his tanks withdraw. They did.11
Landsberg and the Israeli embassy in Washington tried to laugh off the
incident, implying that Johnson was a trigger-happy John Wayne type and
that the media were exaggerating a routine event. Landsberg even went so
far as to claim that he smelled alcohol on Johnson’s breath and that
drunkenness must have clouded his reason. Marines were infuriated
because Johnson was well known as a teetotaler. Americans flocked to
Johnson’s side. He received hundreds of letters from school children,
former Marines and from Commandant Barrow.12 It was a losing battle for
the Israelis and Landsberg soon dropped from sight.
But the incidents did not stop. These now included “helicopter
harassment,” by which U.S.-made helicopters with glaring spotlights were
flown by the Israelis over Marine positions at night, illuminating
Marine outposts and exposing them to potential attack. As reports of
these incidents piled up, Gen. Barrow received a letter on March 12 from
a U.S. Army major stationed in Lebanon with the United Nations Truce
Supervisory Organization (UNTSO). The letter described a systematic
pattern of Israeli attacks and provocations against UNTSO troops,
including instances in which U.S. officers were singled out for
”near-miss” shootings, abuse and detention.13 That same day two Marine
patrols were challenged and cursed by Israeli soldiers.14
Two days later Barrow wrote his letter to Secretary of Defense Caspar W.
Weinberger, who endorsed it and sent it along to the State Department.
High-level meetings were arranged and the incidents abated, perhaps
largely because by this time Ariel Sharon had been fired as defense
minister. He had been found by an Israeli commission to have had
”personal responsibility” for the Sabra and Shatila massacres.15
Despite the bad taste left from the clashes with the Israelis, in fact
no Marines had been killed in the incidents and their lines had been
secure up to the end of winter in 1983. Then Islamic guerrillas, backed
by Iran, became active. On the night of April 17, 1983, an unknown
sniper fired a shot that went through the trousers of a Marine sentry
but did not harm him. For the first time, the Marines returned fire.16
The next day, the U.S. Embassy in Beirut was blown up by a massive bomb,
with the loss of 63 lives. Among the 17 Americans killed were CIA
Mideast specialists, including Robert C. Ames, the agency’s top Middle
East expert.17 Disaffected former Israeli Mossad case officer Victor
Ostrovsky later claimed that Israel had advance information about the
bombing plan but had decided not to inform the United States, a claim
denied by Israel.18 The Iranian-backed Islamic Jihad claimed
responsibility. Veteran correspondent John Cooley considered the attack
”the day [Iranian leader Ayatollah] Khomeini’s offensive against America
in Lebanon began in earnest.” 19
Still, it was not until four months later, on Aug. 28, that Marines came
under direct fire by rocket-propelled grenades and automatic weapons at
International Airport. They returned fire with M-16 rifles and M-60
machine guns. The firefight resumed the next day with Marines firing
155mm artillery, 81mm mortars and rockets from Cobra helicopter gunships
against Shi’i Muslim positions. Two Marines were killed and 14 wounded
in the exchange, the first casualties in actual combat since the Marines
had landed the previous year.20
From this time on, the combat involvement of the Marines grew. Their
actions were generally seen as siding with Israel against Muslims,
slowly changing the status of the Marines as neutral peacekeepers to
opponents of the Muslims.21 Israel could hardly have wished for more.
The polarization meant that increasingly the conflict was being
perceived in terms of the U.S., Israel and Lebanon’s Christians against
Iran, Islam and Lebanon’s Shi’i Muslims.
Accelerating the Conflict
Israel accelerated the building conflict on Sept. 3, 1993 by
unilaterally withdrawing its troops southward, leaving the Marines
exposed behind their thin lines at the airport. The United States had
asked the Israeli government to delay its withdrawal until the Marines
could be replaced by units of the Lebanese army, but Israel refused.22
The result was as feared. Heavy fighting immediately broke out between
the Christian Lebanese Forces and the pro-Syrian Druze units, both
seeking to occupy positions evacuated by Israel, while the Marines were
left in the crossfire. 23On Sept. 5, two Marines were killed and three
wounded as fighting escalated between Christian and Muslim militias.24
In an ill-considered effort to subdue the combat, the Sixth Fleet
frigate Bowen fired several five-inch naval guns, hitting Druze
artillery positions in the Chouf Mountains that were firing into the
Marine compound at Beirut airport.25 It was the first time U.S. ships
had fired into Lebanon, dramatically raising the level of combat. But
the Marines’ exposed location on the flat terrain of the airport left
them in an impossible position. On Sept. 12, three more Marines were
wounded. 26
On Sept. 13, President Reagan authorized what was called aggressive
self-defense for the Marines, including air and naval strikes.27 Five
days later the United States essentially joined the war against the
Muslims when four U.S. warships unleashed the heaviest naval bombardment
since Vietnam into Syrian and Druze positions in eastern Lebanon in
support of the Lebanese Christians.28 The bombardment lasted for three
days and was personally ordered by National Security Council director
Robert McFarlane, a Marine Corps officer detailed to the White House who
was in Lebanon at the time and was also a strong supporter of Israel and
its Lebanese Maronite Christian allies. McFarlane issued the order
despite the fact that the Marine commander at the airport, Colonel
Timothy Geraghty, strenuously argued against it because, in the words of
correspondent Thomas L. Friedman, “he knew that it would make his
soldiers party to what was now clearly an intra-Lebanese fight, and that
the Lebanese Muslims would not retaliate against the Navy’s ships at sea
but against the Marines on shore.” 29
By now, the Marines were under daily attack and Muslims were charging
they were no longer neutral.30 At the same time the battleship USS New
Jersey, with 16-inch guns, arrived off Lebanon, increasing the number of
U.S. warships offshore to 14. Similarly, the Marine contingent at Beirut
airport was increased from 1,200 to 1,600.31
A Tragic Climax
The fight now was truly joined between the Shi’i Muslims and the
Marines, who were essentially pinned down in their airport bunkers and
under orders not to take offensive actions. The tragic climax of their
predicament came on Oct. 23, when a Muslim guerrilla drove a truck past
guards at the Marine airport compound and detonated an explosive with
the force of 12,000 pounds of dynamite under a building housing Marines
and other U.S. personnel. Almost simultaneously, a car-bomb exploded at
the French compound in Beirut. Casualties were 241 Americans and 58
French troops killed. The bombings were the work of Hezbollah, made up
of Shi’i Muslim guerrillas supported by Iran.32
America’s agony increased on Dec. 3, when two carrier planes were downed
by Syrian missiles during heavy U.S. air raids on eastern Lebanon.33On
the same day, eight Marines were killed in fighting with Muslim
militiamen around the Beirut airport.34
By the start of 1984, an all-out Shi’i Muslim campaign to rid Lebanon of
all Americans was underway. The highly respected president of the
American University of Beirut, Dr. Malcolm Kerr, a distinguished scholar
of the Arab world, was gunned down on Jan. 18 outside his office by
Islamic militants aligned with Iran.35 On Feb. 5, Reagan made one of his
stand-tall speeches by saying that “the situation in Lebanon is
difficult, frustrating and dangerous. But this is no reason to turn our
backs on friends and to cut and run.”36
The next day Professor Frank Regier, a U.S. citizen teaching at AUB, was
kidnapped by Muslim radicals.37 Regier’s kidnapping was the beginning of
a series of kidnappings of Americans in Beirut that would hound the
Reagan and later the Bush administrations for years and lead to the
eventual expulsion of nearly all Americans from Lebanon where they had
prospered for more than a century. Even today Americans still are
prohibited from traveling to Lebanon.
The day after Regier’s kidnapping, on Feb. 7, 1984, Reagan suddenly
reversed himself and announced that all U.S. Marines would shortly be
”redeployed.” The next day the battleship USS New Jersey fired 290
rounds of one-ton shells from its 16-inch guns into Lebanon as a final
act of U.S. frustration.38 Reagan’s “redeployment” was completed by Feb.
26, when the last of the Marines retreated from Lebanon.
The mission of the Marines had been a humiliating failure?not because
they failed in their duty but because the political backbone in
Washington was lacking. The Marines had arrived in 1982 with all sides
welcoming them. They left in 1984 despised by many and the object of
attacks by Muslims. Even relations with Israel were strained, if not in
Washington where a sympathetic Congress granted increased aid to the
Jewish state to compensate it for the costs of its bungled invasion,
then between the Marines and Israeli troops who had confronted each
other in a realpolitik battlefield that was beyond their competence or
understanding. The Marine experience in Lebanon did not contribute
toward a favorable impression of Israel among many Americans, especially
since the Marines would not have been in Lebanon except for Israel’s
unprovoked invasion.
This negative result is perhaps one reason a number of Israelis and
their supporters today oppose sending U.S. peacekeepers to the Golan
Heights as part of a possible Israeli-Syrian peace treaty. A repeat of
the 1982-84 experience would certainly not be in Israel’s interests at a
time when its supporters are seeking to have a budget-conscious Congress
continue unprecedented amounts of aid to Israel.

Americans, need to understand.
First of all, it is not our responsibility to

served only to dilute our sovereignty and our national
identity.
As Americans, we have our own culture, our own
society, our own language, and our own lifestyle. This
culture, called the "American Way" has been developed
over centuries of struggles, trials, and victories by
millions of men and women who have sought freedom.
Our forefathers fought, bled, and died at places such
as Bunker Hill, Antietam, San Juan, Iwo Jima,
Normandy, Korea, Vietnam...
We speak English, not Spanish, Arabic, Chinese,
Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore,
if you wish to become part of our society - learn
our language!"
In God We Trust" is our national motto. This is not
some off-the-wall, Christian, Right Wing, political
slogan - it is our national motto. It is engraved in
stone in the House of Representatives in our Capitol
and it is printed on our currency. We adopted this
motto because Christian men and women, on Christian
principles, founded this nation and this is clearly
documented throughout our history. If it is
appropriate for our motto to be inscribed in the halls
of our highest level of Government, then it is
certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of
our schools.
God is in our pledge, our National Anthem, nearly
every patriotic song, and in our founding documents.
We honor His birth, death, and resurrection as
holidays, and we turn to Him in prayer in times of
crisis. If God offends you, then I suggest you
consider another part of the world as your new home,
because God is part of our culture and we are proud to
have Him.
We are proud of our heritage and those who have so
honorably defended our freedoms. We celebrate
Independence Day, Memorial Day, Veterans Day,
and Flag Day. We have parades, picnics, and barbecues
where we proudly wave our flag.
As an American, I have the right to wave my flag, sing
my national anthem, quote my national motto, and cite
my pledge whenever and wherever I choose. If the
Stars and Stripes offend you, or you don't like Uncle
Sam, then you should seriously consider a move to
another part of this planet.
The American culture is our way of life, our heritage,
and we are proud of it. We are happy with our culture
and have no desire to change, and we really don't care
how you did things where you came from. Like it or
not, this is our country, our land, and our lifestyle.
Our First Amendment gives every citizen the right to
express his opinion about our government, culture, or
society, and we will allow you every opportunity to do
so. But once you are done complaining, whining, and
griping about our flag, our pledge, our national
motto, or our way of life, I highly encourage you take
advantage of one other great American freedom:
THE RIGHT TO LEAVE!
Another thing: To those who do complain about the
usage of words like 'God' and 'American' and speaking
the language of our great nation, TRY GOING TO ANOTHER
COUNTRY AND SPEAK AGAINST WHAT YOU DON'T LIKE. YOU
WILL MORE THAN LIKELY END UP JAILED OR EVEN KILLED.
In America, you take your right to complain for
granted. The more patriotism that is removed from
where our children are taught, the less our children
will learn about what it is to be an American and our
nation's spirit will slowly be killed. Keep patriotism
alive.

Thank God For Government Money
A thinking person
may quickly discern either a naïve or conniving politician by the promises of what
great things he claims he is going to do for the people and for the economy
with government money. Such are the campaign promises of “creating jobs,” and
“improving the economy.”
Government is less capable of fixing the economy than one giving themselves
their own blood transfusion - that of sticking a needle in one’s left arm,
drawing out a pint of blood, and then placing the needle in their right arm and
injecting the blood. This is so, because of the near possibility of returning
100% of the blood taken from the left arm into the right arm. But with
government, this is impossible.
It was Thomas Paine who said, “Society in every state is a blessing, but a
government, even in its best state, is but a necessary evil; in its worst
state, an intolerable one.”

I pose the question to those who have come to rely upon government as the
answer to problems, the question, “If government at its best is but a necessary
evil, how much evil do you want?”
The more governmental intervention, the further the demise of our country and
our economy. Not only does common sense bear this out, but so does all history.
Basically, government benefits come at a 300% premium, and for every job “created”
by government, two or three jobs were depleted from the private sector. All
that government can possibly do is redistribute wealth and jobs, which is the
objective of communism.

"globalisation tax" talks
JOHANNESBURG
(Reuters) - French President Jacques Chirac will urge world leaders to launch
talks on a new international tax to fight world poverty, sources with him at
the Earth Summit in Johannesburg say.
The sources said Chirac rejected the existing "Tobin Tax" proposal to
raise levies purely on foreign exchange transactions but would call in a speech
to the summit for discussion on a wider tax on wealth generated by
globalisation.
"It could be a tax on airplane tickets, on carbon dioxide, on health
products sold in industrialised countries, and indeed on international
financial transactions," one source said.
"The idea of wanting to hold back a small share (of global wealth) to relieve
poverty is not a mad idea at all. But the debate has been polluted by the
campaign on the Tobin Tax," the same source added.
The Tobin Tax, championed by non-governmental groups as a way both to raise
funds and to deter financial speculation, attracted much interest particularly
in Europe last year but since appears to have fallen out of favour.
European officials have noted possible problems with the tax, proposed by U.S.
Nobel Prize winner James Tobin in the 1970s. One is that financial markets would
simply move to those countries that chose not to apply the tax.
World leaders began arriving at the World Summit on Sustainable Development on
Monday hoping to settle differences over an action plan to end what South
African President Thabo Mbeki called "global apartheid" between rich
and poor.
The sources close to Chirac, who was due to speak in Johannesburg around midday
local time (11 a.m. British time) on Monday, pointed to studies suggesting
global development aid would have to be doubled to around $100 billion (64
billion pounds) to really fight poverty.

"The National Education Association has weighed in with suggestions to
guide teachers on the first anniversary of the terror attacks. 'Do not
suggest," the NEA advises, "that any group is responsible.'"
"But just in case ... their little charges nevertheless say something
'intolerant' about terrorists, the teachers are encouraged to 'discuss
historical instances of American intolerance.'"
I think you will agree, that's appalling. Right now, we are working on a way
you can help force the NEA union bosses to withdraw their anti-American
curriculum.

A little long but a good read.
According to military tradition, once a US Flag is lifted from the casket, it
is then tilted down in front of the casket to block everyone's view.
The Flag is then held up for everyone to see and taps is then played softly in
the distance. This is referred to as, "Presenting The Colors."
Tradition holds that at this time the fighting spirit of the veteran then
enters the Flag to find rest in God's eternal grace. Once the Flag has been
folded, both the Flag and the veteran are formally "Retired" forever.
From that point on, no one but God Himself is allowed to unfold, or
"Recall",
the Flag until Christ returns.
Now you know why vets always salute folded US Flags. Don't be surprised if you
cry a little the next time you see Old Glory waving in the breeze.
Why the American Flag is folded 13 times. Have you ever noticed on TV or at military
funerals that the honor guard pays meticulous attention to correctly folding
the American Flag exactly 13 times?
I've known how the 21 gun salute was determined (adding the individual digits
of 1776), but only recently learned why the flag was folded 13 times when it is
lowered or when it is folded and handed to the widow at the burial of a
veteran. Here it is:
The first fold of our Flag is a symbol of life.
The second fold is a symbol of our belief in eternal life in Jesus Christ.
The third fold is made in honor and remembrance of the veterans departing our
ranks who gave a portion of their lives for the defense of our country to
attain peace throughout the world.
The fourth fold represents our weaker nature, for as American citizens trusting
in God, it is to Him we turn in times of peace as well as in time of war for
His divine guidance.
The fifth fold is a tribute to our country, for in the words of Stephen
Decatur, "Our Country, in dealing with other countries, may she always be
right; but it is still our country, right or wrong."
The sixth fold is for where our hearts lie. It is with our heart that we pledge
allegiance to the flag of the United States Of America, and to the Republic for
which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with Liberty and Justice
for all.
The seventh fold is a tribute to our Armed Forces, for it is through the Armed
Forces that we protect our country and our flag against all her enemies,
whether they be found within or without the boundaries of our republic.
The eighth fold is a tribute to the one who entered into the valley of the
shadow of death, that we might see the light of day, and to honor mother, for
whom it flies on Mother's Day.
The ninth fold is a tribute to womanhood; for it has been through their faith
in God, their love, loyalty and devotion that the character of the men and
women who have made this country great has been molded.
The tenth fold is a tribute to the father, for he, too, has given his sons and
daughters for the defense of our country since they were first born.
The eleventh fold, in the eyes of a Hebrew citizen represents the lower portion
of the seal of King David and King Solomon, and glorifies in their eyes, the

The twelfth fold, in the eyes of a Christian citizen, represents an emblem of
eternity and glorifies, in their eyes, God the Father, the Son, and Holy
Spirit.
After the thirteenth fold, when the flag is completely folded, the stars are
uppermost reminding us of our nation's motto, "In God We Trust".
After the flag is completely folded and
tucked in, it takes on the appearance of a cocked hat, ever reminding us of the
soldiers who served under General George Washington, and the sailors and
marines who served under Captain John Paul Jones, who were followed by their
comrades and
shipmates in the Armed Forces of the United States, preserving for us the
rights, privileges, and freedoms we enjoy today.

miss “National Reparations Day” last week? Gee, that’s too bad... because we’re
looking at a potential windfall of BILLIONS of taxpayer dollars for radical
left-wing shakedown artists like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton.
First, two lawsuits were filed against major corporations, seeking reparations
on behalf of blacks for slavery in the United States. one lawsuit cites three
companies as being among ONE THOUSAND surviving companies that profited

Next came the “Millions for Reparations” march on Washington, where New York

and slap ‘em, just for my mental health. If they don’t pay us reparations now,
we’re talking about scorched earth.” Barron also said that if the government
failed to act swiftly, he promised to storm the Treasury Department and take
the money for reparations.
At the same march, one rapper chanted, “Show me the money, or I’ll show you my
Glock,” while another sang “Reparations, reparations ... I want my house on the
hill and my Coupe De Ville.”
Now, the slave reparations movement has hit Congress. H. CON. RES. 452 was
introduced by Rep. Danny Davis (D-IL), encouraging the U.S. federal government
“to make reparations to [enslaved Africans] descendants for slavery and its
lingering effects.” The bill was slipped in just before Congress left town for
their summer recess.
It’s not right to make people pay today for actions of others over a hundred
years ago. This nation already pay enough in blood, money and lives during the
Civil War in bringing an end to slavery.
It’s time to take action. Conservative commentator David Horowitz notes that
slavery reparations “are profoundly anti-American and the ultimate example of
‘victimization’ politics. American justice has never been about punishing the
son for the father’s crimes. Yet that is just what the two reparations lawsuits
propose.”
As black talk-show host Larry Elder notes, “No Americans own slaves and no
American slaves still live. The overwhelming majority of Americans object to
the absurdity of non-slaveholders compensating non-slaves.”

Today August 25, 2002 I will send some statistics gained from books I have
read. The books were all read during Black History Month. The books
came
from Springfield’s library, and libraries at Western New England College,
American International College, and Springfield College. All four year
colleges, plus Springfield Technical Community College, a two year school.

These Countries are the proper payees of Reparations.
I would like to note that there was only one ship during the years of
European Slaving that could carry 500 or more Slaves. That is the ship
”The Brookes” was the only one of it’s kind. The Brookes is the ship that
is always shown with Slaves stacked in rows. The New England Clipper ships
were fast, but with little cargo space. They sailed out of New England to
Africa with trade goods, bought Slaves with the goods, then went to South
America or Indies to trade the Slaves for sugar cane or Molasses. This
was returned to New England. Rum was made for trading along with other
goods for Slaves in Africa. Even the speed of these ships would not allow
tacking back the 4000 plus miles from Africa to United States. The food,
and water supply would have delivered dead or dieing cargo. There is no
money in that.
From all my reading, I found nothing to indicate that an
African came
to what is now the USA. The Ship at Jamestown was a Spanish Slave Ship
that lost its course and ran out of supplies.The Slaves were bartered for
supplies, and became Indentured Servants such as the Irish in Boston. The
Slaves had been in the Spanish West Indies. They were freemen after
serving their Endenture.
I did learn that the Slaves Purchased to do farm work in the Southern
Colonies Of British North America, and later the USA had been in the
French, Spanish, Dutch, Portugues, or British Indies at least 10
generations before coming to the USA. I also learned that most of the
present Black Leadership came here as freemen from South America, or the
various Indies during, or before those Islands became
independent.
When Black Celebrities are interviewed, they seem to have also come as
free. Louis Brewer (Farrakan) came as a free young man, and graduated
School in Boston, Massachusetts. He is also part French White.

PAUL HARVEY’S REST OF THE STORY
Paul Harvey aired this prayer given at the opening session of the
Kansas State Senate. It seems prayer still upsets some people. When Minister Joe Wright was asked to open
the next session of the Kansas Senate, everyone was expecting the usual
generalities, but this is what they heard:
“Heavenly Father, we come
before you today to ask your forgiveness and to seek your direction and
guidance. We know Your Word says, Woe to those who call evil “good”, but that
is exactly what we have done. We have lost
our spiritual equilibrium and reversed our values. We confess that we have ridiculed the absolute truth of Your Word
and called it “Pluralism.” We have
exploited the poor and called it “the lottery”, We have rewarded laziness and
called it “welfare,” We have killed our unborn and called it “choice,” We have
shot abortionists and called it “justifiable,” We have neglected to discipline
our children and called it “building self-esteem.” We have abused power and
called it “politics,” We have coveted our neighbor’s possessions and called it
“ambition,” We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called
it “freedom of expression,” We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our
forefathers and called it “enlightenment.”
Search us, Oh, God, and know our hearts today; cleanse us from
every sin and set us free. Guide and
bless these men and women who have been sent to direct us to the center of Your
will and to openly ask these things in the name of Your Son, the living Savior,
Jesus Christ. Amen!”
The response was immediate. A number of legislators walked out
during the prayer in protest. In six short weeks, Central Christian Church,
where Rev. Wright is pastor, logged more than 5,000 phone calls with only 47 of
those calls responding negatively. The church is now receiving international
requests for copies of this prayer from India, Africa, and Korea.
Commentator Paul Harvey aired this prayer on his radio
program, “The Rest of the Story,” and received a larger response to this
program than any other he has ever aired.
With the Lord’s help, may this prayer sweep over our nation and
wholeheartedly become our desire so that we again can be called “one nation
under God.”

THIS IS A GREAT STORY. I COULDN'T PASS UP SENDING IT.
MELBOURNE, Australia --Gun-toting granny Ava Estelle, 81, was so ticked-off
when two thugs raped her 18-year-old granddaughter that she tracked the
unsuspecting ex-cons down -- and shot off their testicles. The old lady
spent
a week hunting those men down, and when she found them, she took revenge on
them in her own special way, said Melbourne police investigator Evan Delp.
Then she took a taxi to the nearest police station, laid the gun on the
sergeant's desk and told him as calm as could be: 'Those bastards will never
rape anybody again, by God.' Cops say convicted rapist and robber Davis
Furth, 33, lost both his penis and his testicles when outraged Ava opened
fire with a 9-mm pistol in the hotel room where he and former prison
cellmate
Stanley Thomas, 29, were holed up.
The wrinkled avenger also blew Thomas' testicles to kingdom come, but
doctors
managed to save his mangled penis, police said. The one guy, Thomas, didn't
lose his manhood, but the doctor I talked to said he won't be using it the
way he used to, Detective Delp told reporters. Both men are still in pretty
bad shape, but I think they're just happy to be alive after what they've
been
through.
The Rambo Granny swung into action August 21 after her granddaughter Debbie
was car-jacked and raped in broad daylight by two knife-wielding creeps in a
section of town bordering on skid row. "When I saw the look on my Debbie's
face that night in the hospital, I decided I was going to go out and get
those bastards myself 'cause I figured the law would go easy on them,"
recalled the retired library worker. "And I wasn't scared of them, either

For approving this global tax agenda is President George W. Bush, but if we ALL

1) An Air Transportation Tax: The UN seeks to place a tax on every airline
ticket. Such a tax would put more than $2 billion in the UN coffers each year.
2) A Carbon Tax: This is where the ecological and "global warming"
hoaxes enter in and they hurt us in the USA tremendously, because the UN wants
OUR "fossil fuel" consumption to be just like a third world
country's! The UN seeks to tax all hydrocarbon fuels. Your energy bills will
skyrocket, and your money go right to the United Nations! These fuels include
oil, coal and natural gas. This one tax would put $125 billion in the UN
treasury, right from YOUR pockets!
3) A Currency Tax: the UN seeks to place a tax on every single international
bank transaction generating as much as a $1 trillion per year for the UN!
4) UN plans also call for taxes on gun exports, use of the internet (and you
can bet your internet and email use will be monitored then!) international
fishing, and space exploration. Catch the fishing part- that means the UN has
control over the waters!
You see, the UN thinks that it has claim to everything that happens on earth.
It calls our world a "global commons". That means there are NO
national boundaries- kiss American Sovereignty goodbye. NO
PRIVATE PROPERTY! Only one common world, controlled by one common
global government, and it plans to have the tax money from us to do all of
this! This is where UN plans are headed. The meeting is in Monterrey, Mexixo
and is the beginning of the drive that will eventually lead to the collection
of all of these taxes. You can count on the UN to follow this up with other
plans for a global IRS to collect the taxes and a global army to enforce
payments. It plans on having total access to your checking, savings and
retirement accounts and withdraw at will. (The IMF/UN did this in Argentina, 3yrs.

things are already in the works. You and I can't let that happen! That is why
it is URGENT that you sign your letter to President Bush, with your opposition

US did not attend the S. African meeting, and say no, no, no, but later

The War Within

PFNS, Alamogordo, NM While the nation's attention is riveted on the War On
Terrorism, business corruption, church scandals, and the kidnaping of children,
another war to subjugate American citizens goes unnoticed except by those in
the crosshairs. This war is being waged inside our borders.
The
apostles of Gaia, with the help of amoral elected officials and Quisling
clerks, are advancing their agenda, the depopulation of large areas of the
country, a.k.a. The Wildlands Project.
You have
not heard of The Wildlands Project? The victories of its
adherents do get space here and there in the media, but never in a way that the
reader would grasp that what is described is in fact part of a master plan to
eliminate private property and herd people into cities. A local group might be
hailed as "saving" a wetland, but not mentioned is that taking the
property out of private ownership means that one more piece of land has been
lined up to implement the eventual creation of a huge tract of land from which
humans will be banned. The Wildlands Project is real. It is being implemented
by a variety of strategies, all at odds with the historical relationship
between government and citizens and the Constitutional rights of citizens.
The goal of The Wildlands Project is to depopulate one half of the nation and
return it to its primeval state. Its disciples believe that their desired end
justifies any means, including the elimination of freedom. Their beliefs
are anti-Christian. They believe humans are a cancer and their numbers must be
reduced. They also believe animals have as much value as humans do. All aspects
of society must be changed to honor and worship Gaia.
The Project's website is filled with words that on first reading appear to be
for apple pie and motherhood, but upon contemplation, the stark reality of what
is being proposed hits home. This from its web site provides an inkling of what
they have in store for you: "The amount of productive land used by the
average U.S. citizen today for food, water, fuel, habitation, clothing,
transportation, and waste-management-is twelve acres.
A large
portion of this land is appropriated from other countries." Read it
carefully. The implications for our society, our national sovereignty,
and our freedom are ominous.
The feds are attempting to implement the Comprehensive Everglades Restoration
Plan (CERP), a process by which 25,000 people will be forced from their land,
about 200,000 acres. Paragon Foundation's J. Zane Walley is an organizer of The
Sawgrass Rebellion, a peaceful but vocal group of landowners coming together
from across the country to oppose CERP. Walley wrote: "As best I can
determine, every land grabbing scheme devised by the green feds left over from
the Clinton regime and their environmentalist cronies has been brought to bear
on the people in rural South Florida.
CERP [is] the model for future land grabs nationwide."
In Oregon, a massive forest fire threatens to drive the inhabitants of the
Illinois Valley from their homes. The devastation is creating an environment to
which they may never be able to return. Hemmed in by laws that prevent
reconstruction and beneficial use of their land, owners will be easy targets
for government or land trusts to buy up and kick out. It is now predicted that
the fire will burn 800 square miles of forest and will be extinguished only
when winter rains start. The fire is burning with an uncommon intensity. Why?
Because over the years, the eco-fascists got laws enacted that prevented early
control of the fire. It is in a wilderness area which firefighters were barred
from entering. Other laws prevent proper forest management, including the
removal of brush and the dead trees now fueling the fire. The Wildlands Project
(and the United Nations, by no mere coincidence) maps the Illinois Valley
as a region from which they want to ban humans. In effect, the eco-fascists
are, as noted by Dr. Arthur Robinson, arsonists who will reap the benefit of
their "means justify the ends" strategy.
Government is now the willing accomplice of those who would destroy our
constitutional republic. The end of our free nation is in sight. It is in
sight, that is, unless the electorate wakes up, realizes what is happening, and
takes meaningful political action at the polls to replace those who bend their
knee to Gaia and the other false gods of today's political scene.
Ronald Reagan nailed it: "We've gone astray from first principles. We've
lost sight of the rule that individual freedom and ingenuity are at the very
core of everything that we've accomplished. Government's first duty is to
protect the people, not run their lives."
Excuse me, Mr. President. Did not you mean to say "ruin?"
