What’s New?
(Certainly NOT the Illegal Immigration Issue!)

As
the “new” proposed legislation to once and for all “handle” the illegal
immigration problem floods the airwaves, cyberspace, and all those dead trees called
newspapers, I’m reminded of that old definition of insanity – “doing the same
thing over and over again and expecting a different result.” One thing is for sure, then – Washington is
full of folks suffering from insanity!
There
really isn’t anything new to write about the subject. About this time last year I published a couple of pieces that put
the whole thing into prospective and gave you plenty to think about. Remember as you read them again that this
same immigration reform argument was going on last spring, with everyone
demanding that something be done. Since
then thousands more have illegally immigrated, our costs of handling the
problem are continuing to skyrocket, our American culture is in much more
danger every day that passes, and our elected officials still DO NOT CARE what
you and I think about the whole thing!

A
short while ago Pat Boone weighed in on the immigration issue with an article,
which also dealt with the willing media’s propagation of lies about what are
not lies. I’ve commented on the same
thing, but I don’t hear enough people, even those in “our” camp, demanding the
real truth. For what it’s worth, these
days, folks must demand truth
because government, the media, and the socialist elites that think they run the
country will never volunteer the
truth. With an educational system that
has made a big business out of teaching the exact opposite of the truth much of
the time, we are in real danger of losing all of the tethers that once grounded
everyone to the inescapable truths of life.
If you can’t trust teachers, historians, or journalists of current
events, then just who on earth can you trust?
Many would answer that question with, “in God we trust” – but He’s in
real danger of being wiped off the official face of America!
It
gets frustrating to try and maintain the necessary optimism for a happy life
when there are so many trying to get everyone to believe that we have nothing
to be happy about. The truth is the only thing that matters
in the fight to pursue and find happiness, and I’m getting sick and tired of
watching the American public buy into lies and lose the good sense to even
recognize the truth.

One
final point about the newest attempt by the legislature to fix the illegal
immigration problem – it’s not up to congress!
We do not need any new laws! All
we need to do is insist that the real immigration laws are enforced! Congress should butt out of this one and let
law enforcement and the judicial system do their jobs! Oh, and as a side bar on this – the media,
the politicians, and the socialist elites should stop trying to rewrite the
English language to suit their purpose on the immigration issue. We learned the meaning of the word “amnesty”
a long time ago. Anything that smacks
of “forgiving” illegal aliens for breaking our laws or rewards them for jumping
through hoops IS STILL AMNESTY!
